ASMA WARSI

 Six Point One

He called me this morning, “how old did you turn?”
“I am sixty-one.”
Computer savvy as he is,
He retorted, “ You’re only 6.1”

Am I Acrobat, or Photoshop? I don’t know
Perhaps Pagemaker 6.1,
So age is only numbers,
Mindset, version, a vision.

Next year, then I’ll be 6.2,
Will I be more user-friendly?
Or more troublesome, snappy, grumpy,
Irritating, annoying, crude?
Or will I be like every version?
Promised as better, improved.

[This was an impromptu poem written by me on my birthday]
